WHAT IF YOUR CHILD WAS MURDERED

I would like to take you through my sons and my/our family nightmare, a nightmare that will be my reality for as long as I am alive and on this earth, all too often a reality for so many parents and families across this great land we call the land of the "free and the brave". My son Conrad was twenty-five years old, a god fearing man, a father whom lived for, and was raising his five year old daughter, the type of person that was so friendly, would help out anybody in need, a caring, compassionate, loving, kind, happy, full-of-life, a true gentle-man, enjoyed every minute he had on this earth...exceptional human being...
No words can explain...Unbelievably...he was murdered on January 03, 2010 in Denver, Colorado, I am not going to sugar-coat this torturous, heinous, horrific, pre-meditated, cowardly crime that has changed my families life forever...my son was jumped by a gang of ruthless thugs who planned the murder, and executed it with precision...they tortured him before he was struck through the heart with a knife, execution style...these "people" even went on with their night of partying after they killed my son...what type of human beings would do this horrific thing to somebody, and think nothing of it, as if to say it is ok to murder... ! ! !
The Denver Police Department arrested one man the next day, the man that indeed plunged that knife that took my sons life away from us...He is now charged with Murder In The First Degree, a charge, that entails life in prison without the chance of parole because of the brutality of this murder, a charge which, I now have learned, does not stick a lot of the time because of the Legislative process...so many regulations, and laws, and procedures, that put the prosecuters at such a dis-advantage, our laws are in the favor of the perpetrators, the very same ones who disobey the laws to begin with, how ironic is that, It is not lost on me that this is a serious charge that may put a person in prison for life...WHAT ABOUT MY SON, he cannot tell his side...he is dead, gone...he cannot live and love, anymore, he doesnt breath air, anymore, he doesnt read and tuck his daughter in at night anymore, he doesnt talk to anybody anymore, he cannot do anything, anything on this earth, anymore...including defend himself in a court of law...
But the perpetrator can, by all means, and should be able to, to hire an attorney, if they have the money...who knows the word and the complex intricacies of the law, but these laws are made to make it almost impossible to get a guilty sentence....many of whom who helped sculpt these laws, and are now "cashing in" these absurd laws such as allowing a murder trial to last upwards of two or more years, do they not know that the witnesses will fall off, or that it seems to, after so much time and heartache, may or may not make more sense to accept a plea bargain rather than re-live these horrific events contiuously in a court of law, to charge the person with a lesser crime because of the real possibility that that guilty party may get off on some lame, but legal maneuver, or similar like circumstance...like being unable to pay the attorney, then we would have to start, all over, or the judge may not allow evidence, critical evidence because of a lack of due diligence by a person of our law enforcement system...or even one juror to not believe that person not guilty...to be continued...
